Slumdog Millionaire

A Mumbai teen who grew up in the slums, becomes a contestant on the Indian version of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" He is arrested under suspicion of cheating, and while being interrogated, events from his life history are shown which explain why he knows the answers.

Deze film, die dus gaat over het leven in de sloppenwijken van Mumbai, is een echte hype in Indië. De meningen en commentaren zijn verdeeld:

"it is not a case of the infamous western eye ferreting out oriental squalor and peddling it as the exotic dirt bowl of the east. No, Slumdog Millionaire is just a piece of riveting cinema, meant to be savoured as a Cinderella-like fairy tale, with the edge of a thriller and the vision of an artist. Wij vonden de film super (en waarheidsgetrouw) en een must! Zeker als je naar Indië komt! Dus als het weer eens een keertje van dat typisch Belgisch weer is: Ga naar de cinema en zie deze film!

studienamiddqg!

Sinds oktober heb ik me opnieuw geëngageerd om te studeren. En ik ben niet alleen! Ook Mieke kan zich terug student noemen. We proberen elkaar dan ook te stimuleren, omdat de discipline soms wel ontbreekt. Vandaag hebben we een eerste geslaagde studienamiddag achter de rug! 

Dat er nog vele mogen volgen.....
